He leaned just slightly into his hand, watching his face for a beat. "Okay."

Ah. He had not quite expected that. He raised his hand again and stroked his cousin's cheek.

He closed his eyes and turned his face into his hand. He didn't want to admit that part of why he'd thrown himself back into the office work was being unable to sleep by himself after so long with someone in his bed.

Obito watched him. Stroked his thumb against the cheek, turned his hand and brushed his knuckles along it before drawing it away. Yes. This would be fine. It would be nice to be close to him--though the innocent part was going to be difficult to pull off... Ah, well.

His eyes opened as the hand left him and he quirked his lips slightly. "Didn't you say you'd feed me?"

"I think I implied that I would attempt to do so. Success is kind of going to depend on what's around, foodwise. You hungry?"

[youngesthokage]

He nodded, smile turning wry. "Always. Being pregnant just made it worse."

[mooneye]

"...Little baby's probably tired of nothing but rice and tea." He shook his head and looked around them. "I can hunt," he commented. "If you'd like something like that. Meat. Otherwise, what's inside?"

"Canned goods, smoked meats that can keep for a few weeks, things of that sort."

[mooneye]

"I can work with that." He thought he could. It had been a while since he'd really cooked anything. But he had never been bad at the task, so. High hopes.

He took his hand and started back toward the house. "Other things soon enough."

[mooneye]

Obito followed him easily. Other things? That was promising. He slid back into the house and pulled his hand from Itachi's to go explore the kitchen area.

He followed him at an amble, curious to see what he could make of the kitchen. After all, it was stocked for short visits with long gaps between, but that didn't make it badly stocked. Anything that could be called an herb however was untouched as he apparently couldn't see a reason to use them and he was the only one that came out here.

He picked through the storage. This wouldn't be so hard. The ingredients were simple enough, and Obito did cook sometimes. He gathered up meat and oils, and vegetables and herbs, and a pot. Stew, he remembered how to do. No problem.

Itachi's interest was clear, and while he tried to stay out of the way he was hovering. He was curious and hungry, not the best combination.

Obito didn't mind. He slid around him as he needed to, piecing things apart and throwing it all together with quick, nimble fingers. After a while, he had it cooking, and the warm steam from it smelled nice, so he thought he had probably managed to pull the meal off.

"...You want to stir this?" he asked.

"...It's nowhere near ready to eat and standing over it won't help me at -all-." He moved forward to stir it anyway, peering into the pot.

Obito moved to stand behind him, resting his chin on his shoulder and sliding his hands around to rest holding his hips.

He blinked, then tipped his head back, looking at him with curious eyes.

Obito just looked back. Then lifted a hand to skim the loose hair away and bare his cousin's neck, and pressed his mouth there. He began to open his mouth, to bite the way he would have bitten a lover, then stopped and simply withdrew.

His breath caught anyway, understanding the motion, but he never actually looked away, watchful.

He sighed and stepped back, looking around the rest of the kitchen. "I could make bread but that's going to take forever."

[youngesthokage]

He stopped himself from leaning after him and looked back to the stew he'd stopped stirring. "Whatever you'd like to make."

[mooneye]

He goes about the kitchen putting other things together. The quick bread that inn's sometimes prepared. Something he's never done for himself before, but he's watched it done, and he has a sharp memory.

He stayed where he'd been planted, following him around with his eyes, observing everything closely.
