He tilted his head slightly. "No, but don't you think there's more than enough of that? I'm technically named after Izuna, after all."

He blinked at that. "Really?" The question had an odd edge to it.

[youngesthokage]

He blinked back at him. "Both our names mean weasel." There was a hint of amusement there. "I think mother was trying to find a creative way of reusing the same name. Again."

[mooneye]

"It's not a bad name. Izuna was so kind." He said it sort of without thinking. He had met Izuna--sort of--in Madara's genjutsus.

He peered at him for a moment, but decided not to comment on that. "I had heard that was the case. People forget that part, I think."

[mooneye]

"Yeah, with the getting his eyeballs taken out and the dying in battle." Obito shook his head. "Still. Not a bad name. And not a bad person to be named after."

[youngesthokage]

"I never thought so. One of the ones I don't mind being named after. And you Obito? You were surprised."

[mooneye]

He shook his head. "I just hadn't realized that before. That you were named after him. And I hadn't thought... you're a little like him, I guess. So it fits."

"I'm like me." He lifted his chin some. "I like it that way."

The corner of his mouth jerked up slightly. "Yes," he agreed. "You are that, most of all."

He seemed satisfied at this reaction and leaned down, kissing his hair. "Yes, I am."

[mooneye]

"Hmph." He curled his fingers against Itachi's sides. It was true.

He quirked his lips. "All done listening tot he baby?"

[mooneye]

"Baby." He shook his head, like he still didn't want to be convinced. But. He was. And he shifted, balancing back on his heels and then sliding up to his feet. "Yes, for now."

He looked up at him, a little worried, but he didn't know what he wanted to ask.

Obito looked back down. He caught the little glimmer of worry and waited, to see if something would be said.

He finally sighed and just reached out and took his hand, holding it in both of his hand looking at it. He'd grabbed the left.

"My darling," Obito murmured, letting him hold and turn the hand as he wished.

[youngesthokage]

He finally drifted his eyes up to look at his face again, visibly hesitating.

"Even though you're not entirely happy with me right now?"

[mooneye]

He just looked at him for a while before bending down, hesitating, and then pressing his lips to just the corner of Itachi's. "I am not entirely happy with you, but you are entirely my darling."

His breath caught, eyes widening a little at he stared up at him. "Obito-nii..."

[mooneye]

All right. He couldn't handle it anymore. He had made a valiant effort so far, he thought. And Madara would tell him to take all that he wanted. Taking just the smallest fraction didn't seem so bad. He reached up to curve his hand over the back of his cousin's neck, and then he kissed him for real. Pressed their mouths together and let go of his doubts in the rush of it, since he might get just the once.

He froze, mind scrambling for a moment before blanking as his breathing stuttered to a brief halt. Something was saying push him away, because there was no way to know how Kisame would take something like this. It had never been an issue worth thinking about but...

But he'd missed his Obito-nii -so much-, and after a tremble, his breathing kicked back in and he leaned up toward the kiss.

He had expected to be shoved away. When that didn't happen, he made soft little noise that was all need and gratitude. He wasn't really thinking about this. Just acting on impulse, doing what he badly wanted to do. When he felt Itachi lean into it he braced his hand on the back of the couch and deepened the kiss, tasting and capturing the other's mouth. Itachi could probably feel the deep scars where his own lip had torn under the rock, and healed rough just like the rest of him.

His breathing picked up, but he kept back from touching him, unwilling to press the limits of the man's control of accidentally invite what he wasn't sure he wanted to give. Or rather, what was available to give. There was no fighting the kiss though, and he parted his lips.

He could give him a kiss.
