"I... yes. Yes I think I am." It was a murmur, and he watched him, staying still under the older man's focus, though the baby had no such qualms, by some method or another being aware enough of being paid attention to move around more.

[mooneye]

"But you're not totally sure." It wasn't quite phrased as a question. But he was fascinated now. Paying close, careful attention, drawing one hand closer to his cheek to feel the movement against his palm as well.

He flushed some then. "The little one was an accident, but... I don't have any particular interest in not having had this happen either. Just... well. I'm a man, being a mother never crossed my mind."

[mooneye]

"Accident," he repeated. "It must have been very surprising for you." And he shifted to get more comfortable sitting on the floor. "...You know I've been a woman before, with this sort of jutsu, and I've never had anything like this happen." He drew back just enough to give Itachi a look that spoke of suspicion for just how much and in what way he was doing what had led to this with the Kiri-nin.

He flushed and huffed softly, looking right back at him. "Yes, well, forgive me for experimenting."

[mooneye]

"Experimenting?" He dug at it. Okay, he couldn't help himself. Because, really. "There's experimenting and then there's experimenting, my dear..."

[youngesthokage]

He shifted, huffing softly. "It came up in conversation... and eventually I admitted a willingness to try it. It just.. was overzealous."

[mooneye]

Obito shook his head. Overzealous. Well, there was no doubt about that. He looked back down to the softly round belly, running his hand gently over it, picking up the tiny little flutters of movement once more. "Well. Do you have a name for it... him? Her?"

He immediately shook his head, peering down at where he was being touched. "I... can't think of anything. Well. For a boy."

[mooneye]

"How about Obito the Second?"

[youngesthokage]

He blinked at him, then gave him a wry smile. "The name got taken out of consideration because I don't need a replacement you."

[mooneye]

"Baw. Too bad. It's an excellent name." And he lapsed into somewhat more serious thought.

[youngesthokage]

He played with his hair a bit, watching him as his fingers slowly ran through the newly brushed strands.

[mooneye]

"You could name it..." And he thinks Shisui but doesn't say that. Would it be cruel? To give a child that name? He isn't sure. "...Well. You'll come up with something."

[youngesthokage]

He smiled slightly, and it was sad. "I heard that." It was a low murmur, and he tightened his fingers slightly before sighing.

[mooneye]

"I don't know," he said. "Would it be sad? To be named after someone...?"

[youngesthokage]

He tilted his head slightly. "No, but don't you think there's more than enough of that? I'm technically named after Izuna, after all."

[mooneye]

He blinked at that. "Really?" The question had an odd edge to it.

[youngesthokage]

He blinked back at him. "Both our names mean weasel." There was a hint of amusement there. "I think mother was trying to find a creative way of reusing the same name. Again."

[mooneye]

"It's not a bad name. Izuna was so kind." He said it sort of without thinking. He had met Izuna--sort of--in Madara's genjutsus.

[youngesthokage]

He peered at him for a moment, but decided not to comment on that. "I had heard that was the case. People forget that part, I think."

[mooneye]

"Yeah, with the getting his eyeballs taken out and the dying in battle." Obito shook his head. "Still. Not a bad name. And not a bad person to be named after."

[youngesthokage]

"I never thought so. One of the ones I don't mind being named after. And you Obito? You were surprised."

[mooneye]

He shook his head. "I just hadn't realized that before. That you were named after him. And I hadn't thought... you're a little like him, I guess. So it fits."

[youngesthokage]

"I'm like me." He lifted his chin some. "I like it that way."
